Stockholm Welcomes the Opening of a Ukrainian Unity Hub
Sweden's capital now hosts the Unity Hub Stockholm, a dedicated center offering guidance and assistance to Ukrainians living in the country. The inauguration ceremony featured several high-ranking officials, including Ilona Gavronska and Tetiana Kirienko, Deputy Ministers of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine; Sweden's Minister for Migration, Johan Forssell; and Ukraine's Ambassador to Sweden, Svitlana Zalishchuk. Representatives from the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and members of the local Ukrainian community also attended the event.
Backed by the Swedish government, this hub will officially open its doors to visitors on June 22, 2026. During a trial phase, it will operate from Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with appointments required in advance. The project is implemented by ICMPD in coordination with the National Unity Agency LLC.

Ilona Gavronska commented:
“Today, tens of thousands of Ukrainians in Sweden are studying, working, and raising children while remaining an integral part of Ukraine. The Unity Hub in Stockholm is designed to help them maintain that connection, access reliable information, receive support, and get the necessary advice to plan their futures, including the possibility of returning to Ukraine.”
Unity Hub Stockholm will provide a range of services, such as:
- Informational consultations on temporary protection status, residency matters, and integration in Sweden;
- Employment assistance;
- Accessible support for those considering a return to Ukraine;
- Guidance on available services and support mechanisms for displaced individuals in Sweden;
- Referrals to specialized organizations;
- Access to cultural, educational, and community events to foster social cohesion and maintain ties with Ukraine.

The launch of the Ukrainian Unity Hub in Stockholm represents a significant milestone in supporting the Ukrainian diaspora in Sweden. This facility will serve as a vital resource for many Ukrainians seeking advice and help adapting to their new environment while preserving their connection to their homeland. For migrants facing numerous challenges—especially Ukrainians displaced by conflict—such a center can play a crucial role in their integration and social adjustment.
