Ukraine Hub Ticino Opens
The Ukrainian Cultural Center in Switzerland has opened a new support hub in the town of Chiasso, in the canton of Ticino. Named Ukraine Hub Ticino, it is now available to Ukrainians in the area. Its purpose is to help them adapt to life in Switzerland, support local community projects, foster intercultural dialogue, and strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian and Swiss institutions. The center gives the Ukrainian community in Ticino a dedicated meeting point for guidance, involvement, and exchange.
Core Activities
Ukraine Hub Ticino’s main work covers the following areas:
- building ties with municipal authorities, cantonal institutions, government agencies, and international as well as civil society organizations;
- supporting volunteer initiatives;
- carrying out public information work;
- producing the diaspora newspaper “Voice of Diaspora” through its editorial team.
The hub’s mission is to support Ukrainians in successfully integrating into Swiss society, motivate them to take an active role in their local communities, and build partnerships between Ukrainian and Swiss institutions. It also aims to create a space built on trust, mutual aid, and opportunity.
“This project is meant to become a place for encounter, cooperation, learning, and growth,” the association said. “Every Ukrainian here can access reliable information and support, join integration, educational, cultural, and community activities, and take part in socially meaningful projects.” — Ukrainian Cultural Center in Switzerland
The opening of Ukraine Hub Ticino marks a significant step for the Ukrainian diaspora in Switzerland, paving the way for better integration and community development. Against the backdrop of today’s challenges facing Ukrainians abroad, the new center underscores the growing importance of cross-cultural initiatives and social support. It may also serve as a model for how other countries can provide services to their citizens living overseas.
