A new wave of social support is starting in Ternopil: one thousand residents from vulnerable categories will receive free food packages. The assistance will cover elderly people, persons with disabilities, and families in difficult circumstances. This was reported by Faine Misto referring to the Ternopil City Council.
Food packages in Ternopil: who will receive assistance
Within the initiative, the most socially vulnerable residents of the community will receive assistance. This includes elderly people, persons with disabilities of the first and second groups, as well as low-income and large families.
Part of the packages was personally delivered by the city mayor, Serhiy Nadal. For those who cannot come in person, products are delivered to their homes by social policy management staff.
«The staff of the social policy management continue to help Ternopil residents who are the least socially protected. May these packages lift the spirits and be useful,» the mayor stated.

This set covers the basic needs of households and allows to partially reduce food expenses.
The city authorities note that the support program is regular and aimed at those who are most in need of assistance in the difficult economic situation.
The initiative demonstrates how communities continue to support people for whom even basic expenses become critical.
Let us remind you that in 2026, Ukraine has a mechanism for partial unemployment assistance, provided to officially employed individuals who face income reductions due to the suspension or reduction of production. This program was introduced to support workers in cases of economic or technological difficulties, emergencies, and during wartime or emergency situations, including in the context of quarantine restrictions.
