Vienna Hosts Charity Run 'For Your Freedom and Ours' in Support of Ukraine
A charity run titled 'For Your Freedom and Ours' recently took place in Vienna, organized by the Lithuanian Embassy as part of the global '5 for Lithuania' initiative. Participants completed a 5-kilometer course, either running or walking, to raise awareness and support for Ukraine. This event is part of an annual tradition launched in 2013 by the World Lithuanian Youth Association. The Lithuanian Embassy and the Lithuanian community in Austria jointly coordinated the run in Vienna.
Ukrainian Embassy Counselor Oleksandr Irkhin expressed deep gratitude to the people of Lithuania for their steadfast support, stating:

Recently, in Lviv, the PROBIG Charity Run marked the fifth anniversary of the community organization 'PROBIG Club'. Over 300 participants took part, raising 180,000 hryvnias toward a goal of 200,000. Meanwhile, in Ottawa, the Solidarity Run collected more than 14,000 Canadian dollars (approximately 10,400 USD), funds directed to aid Ukrainian military medical personnel.
Additionally, on September 19, the Mukachevo Half Marathon was held, drawing around 800 runners from various Ukrainian regions, including disabled servicemen. These events highlight the active involvement of both local and international communities in championing Ukraine’s cause through charitable actions.
