Ukrainian refugees in Vilnius will have the opportunity to use public transport for free for the rest of this year. They must have a personalized ticket obtained based on their residence permit and foreign document. This benefit will be valid from March 1 until the end of 2026. The previous rules will be in effect until the beginning of March, after which free transport will only be available with a personalized ticket. It is also worth noting that drivers in Lithuania will only be able to take exams in Lithuanian or other official languages of the European Union starting in 2026.
Lithuania has also announced the cancellation of over 100 residence permits for Russians due to their frequent trips to Russia or Belarus. According to local legislation, if a person makes two trips to these countries within three months, their residence permit is automatically canceled.
