Incident in Vinnytsia
A 39-year-old man in Vinnytsia has been charged with the rape of his 13-year-old stepdaughter. The incident occurred in August 2025, when the suspect, who was in a civil marriage with the child's mother, committed a crime against his partner's daughter.
The child reported the incident to her older sister, who, in turn, contacted the police. As a result of the investigation, the man faces imprisonment for a term of eight to 15 years. Currently, the suspect is held in custody without the possibility of bail.
Other Cases of Domestic Violence
It is worth noting that this is not the first case related to domestic violence. Earlier, from 2024 to July 2025, another man, 57 years old, raped his six-year-old granddaughter and her nine-year-old friend. Also, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office recently sentenced a 38-year-old man for domestic violence, imposing a 15-year prison term. These cases highlight the seriousness of the domestic violence issue and the need for decisive actions by law enforcement agencies.
The situation with domestic violence in Ukraine remains alarming. In light of recent cases, law enforcement agencies are obliged to strengthen control over such situations and ensure the protection of victims. Increasing public awareness and active participation in the fight against domestic violence can help prevent similar crimes in the future.
