In Vinnytsia, unfortunately, the oldest volunteer in the city has passed away; she was born 95 years ago. Her daughter, Nina Vladimirovna, confirmed this information, reporting this sad event, according to 'Graham'.

According to 'Suspilne. Vinnytsia', three years ago Olena Vladimirovna began her volunteering activities together with her 67-year-old daughter. Despite having survived the Holodomor and two wars, when her daughter decided to make trench candles, she offered her help without hesitation.

A dream of no longer needing candles

According to the publication, Olena Vladimirovna's main dream was for trench candles to no longer be needed. Together with her daughter, they did not limit themselves to making just candles: in the summer, they grew herbs for tea and canned food for the military.

It is worth mentioning that a well-known volunteer and combat medic from the UK, Peter Fouche, has died in the war in Ukraine.

Initially, Fouche was a volunteer who helped create a field hospital in Brovary, near Kyiv. Later, he obtained a medical education and joined the local defense. A charitable foundation called Project Konstantin (named after one of his comrades who died) was also established, which was focused on the quick evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield.

The news of the death of the oldest volunteer in Vinnytsia is very sad. Olena Vladimirovna actively participated in volunteer activities with her daughter, dreaming of an end to the need for candles in combat zones. People like her deserve respect and gratitude for their selfless work for the benefit of others.
