Man Detained in Vinnytsia for Opening Fire on a Taxi

A 26-year-old local resident has been taken into custody in Vinnytsia for shooting at a taxi on July 7. No injuries were reported in the incident. The taxi driver, a 27-year-old man, alerted emergency services by calling 102 after hearing gunshots. While transporting passengers, he discovered damage to the rear window of his Ford vehicle.

Authorities confiscated the weapon used in the crime, a FORT 17 R traumatic pistol. The Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia Oblast confirmed that the suspect has been officially notified of suspicion. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing under criminal proceedings initiated on charges of hooliganism, in accordance with Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article carries a penalty of three to seven years in prison.

In a related development, another suspect was arrested in Lviv for a similar shooting incident. During a search of this individual, authorities seized a pump-action shotgun and ammunition.
