Starting from July 15, residents of Vinnytsia began paying more for minibus transportation. New tariffs apply to all city routes, while for suburban directions to several villages, the cost has increased even more. The reason for the review was a significant rise in the price of fuel, spare parts, and other expenses of transport companies. This is reported by Suspilne Vinnytsia.

Minibus tariffs in Vinnytsia from July 15: how much does the fare cost

From now on, the fare on most city routes costs 30 UAH. For routes connecting Vinnytsia with the villages of Shchitky, Pysarivka, and Havyshivka, a rate of 35 UAH has been set.

The director of the Department of Economy and Investments of the Vinnytsia City Council, Maksym Martyanov, explained that the previous fare remained unchanged for almost four years. During this time, the expenses incurred by transport companies have significantly changed.

According to him, diesel fuel, which cost about 57 UAH per liter when the previous tariff was set, is now sold for 74-79 UAH. In addition, spare parts, motor oils, vehicle maintenance, and the minimum wage have all risen in price.

Why the fare for minibuses has increased in Vinnytsia

Carrier Oleg Matviev noted that over the past year, expenses on fuel, repairs, and maintenance of buses have significantly increased. An additional problem remains the retention of drivers, whose salaries have to be raised.

According to him, even the new tariffs do not cover all the expenses of the companies but only partially compensate for them. Currently, there are 29 bus routes operating in the Vinnytsia community, with 206 buses running daily.

Most passengers, according to drivers, were aware of the upcoming increase even before it took effect, and thus accepted the changes calmly. However, some residents of the city admit that although the increases can be explained by economic reasons, additional expenses will become significant for many families.

It should be noted that on May 28 in Vinnytsia, at the Ninth Microdistrict stop, there was an incident during which a man and a woman assaulted a tram driver.
