The radiation background in the Zaporizhzhia region remains within normal limits, as confirmed by measurements from the radiation, chemical, and biological protection department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The radiation level is 0.14 µSv/hour and does not pose a danger to the population, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
«Monitoring of the radiation background continues; however, the situation in the region is currently stable and under control,» the statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
It should also be noted that the IAEA has agreed with the occupying administration and Rostekhnadzor that the launch of power units at the Zaporizhzhia NPP is currently postponed due to military threats in this region. The decision was made to ensure nuclear safety at the facility.
