A new bus route No. 48 has been launched in Zaporizhzhia since early June, which runs along the Embankment and connects the Zaporizhzhia and Komunar districts. Along with the launch of the route, the city authorities and the carrier have published the schedule for the new services. This is reported by the KP 'Zaporizhelektrotrans'.
Bus No. 48 began operation on June 1
The new route has been named 'BK ZAlK – Simferopol Highway'. The first buses started operating on June 1.
The start of the route is planned for 06:00. The first services depart simultaneously from two terminal stops, ensuring convenient connections between different parts of the city right from the morning.
The new route provides an additional transport connection between the Zaporizhzhia and Komunar districts, which residents had repeatedly emphasized the necessity of.
Route No. 48 will run along the Embankment
Towards Simferopol Highway, buses move from the stop 'BK ZAlK' through Metallurgiv Avenue, as well as the streets of Victory and Tbilisi, after which they exit to the Coastal Motorway.
Next, the route runs through Autozavodska Street, Oleksandr Hovorukha Street, and Cosmic Street to the final stop.
In the opposite direction, the transport travels through Cosmic Street, Chumachenko, Zakarpatsky Legion, Paramonov, Oleksandr Hovorukha, and Autozavodska, then returns to the Coastal Motorway and Metallurgiv Avenue.
For the launch of the route, the city allocated 17 million UAH
The decision to create the new bus connection was made last year after numerous appeals from city residents.
A unique feature of the project is that large municipal buses will perform regular passenger transportation along the Embankment for the first time in the history of Zaporizhzhia.
Approximately 17 million UAH was allocated from the city budget for the implementation of the route. It is expected that the new connection will help improve transport accessibility between remote areas and reduce the pressure on other public transport routes.
Recall that on May 30, Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.
