In Zaporizhzhia, an increase in radiation levels was recorded during strong winds from the temporarily occupied territories. According to the head of the Center for Occupation Studies and former adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, the incident occurred near the small market at 7:00 PM.

This is also evidenced by a post from Petro Andriushchenko, in which he noted that winds from the occupied territory caused an increase in radiation. He also mentioned that in recent days, rumors about events at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant have been actively spreading, requiring attention and clarification.
Stopping the operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP
Previously, the IAEA noted that the launch of power units at the Zaporizhzhia NPP under wartime conditions is impossible due to the threat to nuclear safety at the site. Currently, the station cannot be restarted due to a lack of water for cooling and unstable power supply. Complete restoration of the ZNPP operation may require the use of water from the Dnipro River.
As a result of strong winds from the occupied territories, an increase in radiation levels was recorded in Zaporizhzhia. This situation caused outrage and concern among local residents and sparked discussions about nuclear safety in the region, especially in the context of the operation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The suspension of the station's operation underscores the importance of safety and the need to provide the station with all necessary support for its restoration. At the same time, the lack of water for cooling and unstable power supply currently complicate this process, requiring quick responses and decisive actions from the relevant institutions and organizations.
