In Zaporizhzhia, the city transport network is being expanded - by the end of the week, new European buses will be put on the routes between the right and left banks. This decision was made after a survey of the city's residents, in which thousands of Zaporizhzhia residents participated. Most participants voted for strengthening routes in the Khortytsia district or immediately in all directions. About this, wrote the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA, Ivan Fedorov.

Which routes will the new buses operate on

According to the head of Zaporizhzhia OVA Ivan Fedorov, the new buses will operate during peak hours - from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 19:00 to 23:00. Additional transport will be launched on the following routes:

  • №17 - 3rd Southern Microdistrict - Osypenkivskyy Microdistrict;

  • №18 - 4th Southern Microdistrict - Borodinsky Microdistrict;

  • №38 - Metallurgists Avenue - 16th Khortytsia Microdistrict.

In addition, route №39 (Zaporizhzhia-2 station - 17th Khortytsia Microdistrict) has already been reinforced with new buses.

New routes and assistance from Italy

Earlier, a temporary route №71 (Simferopol highway - Zaporizhzhia Square) was launched in Zaporizhzhia, as well as test lines №97 'BK ZAlK - 3rd Southern Microdistrict' and №48 'BK ZAlK - Simferopol highway'.
This is part of a large-scale renewal of public transport that the city is conducting with the support of European partners.

The city authorities are assisted by Milan: the Italian city provided Zaporizhzhia with six modern buses, which are already being prepared for work on city lines. At the same time, the city council acknowledges that there remains a driver shortage problem, which may affect the launch schedule of new routes.

The project aims to reduce the transport load on the bridges across the Dnieper and improve connectivity between districts, especially in the morning and evening hours.
