Фінал розслідування корупційних справ у молодіжній команді України: результати та подальші дії.

UAF Investigation into Youth National Teams

The Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) has concluded its internal investigation into potential misconduct within its youth national team system. The nearly year-long inquiry involved interviews with sports journalists, members of the coaching staff, team personnel, players, their parents, and agents. Various methods, including polygraph tests, were used to verify information.

The investigating committee found no evidence of corrupt influence on team selection or of illicit benefits being gained through dealings with football agents in the specific case that prompted the probe. However, a significant amount of information and data gathered during the investigation has been handed over to law enforcement and authorized services. Furthermore, some of the uncovered information has led to a separate, ongoing case.

Scandal and New Nations League Season

The scandal that triggered the investigation erupted last year, implicating the then-assistant coach of the Ukraine U-19 national team, Volodymyr Yezerskyi. Separately, the UAF has announced the match calendar for the Ukrainian national team in the new UEFA Nations League season. Ukraine has been drawn in League B, Group 2, where they will face Hungary, Georgia, and Northern Ireland. The first match is scheduled for September 25, with the group winner earning promotion to League A.

The conclusion of the UAF's investigation marks a significant, though inconclusive, step in addressing corruption concerns in Ukrainian football. The handover of materials to law enforcement indicates a continued commitment to transparency. This probe comes at a time when Ukrainian football is striving to align with European governance standards. The upcoming Nations League fixtures also provide a crucial competitive platform for the national team, offering valuable experience for its development.
