In Lviv, at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court, a new hearing took place in the case of the murder of linguist Iryna Faryon. The central moment of the session was the results of the odorological examination, which indicate the possible involvement of the accused, Vyacheslav Zinchenkо.

Expert Vitaliy Mandryk, who joined the court remotely, reported that scent traces from the crime scene were compared with samples from the accused.

“Each person has their unique scent, like DNA or fingerprints. Three certified dogs confirmed a match between the accused's scent and the scent at the scene with 99.9% accuracy,” Mandryk stated.

During the meeting, the prosecutors and defense reviewed the bullet casing found at the crime scene. Lawyer Igor Sulima noted the deformation of the casing and doubted that its examination was proper. Prosecutor Dmytro Petlyovany explained that the shot was not necessarily fired from the specific pistol mentioned in the case.

Opinion of the deceased's daughter

The daughter of the deceased, Sofia Osoba, noted that the results of the scent examination leave no doubt about Zinchenko's involvement:

“The expert said that 99% match... There are no doubts here that it is Zinchenko. The lawyers are trying to come up with something out of nothing,” Sofia Osoba commented.

The next court session is scheduled for January 8, where the extension of the preventive measure for the accused will be considered.
