Five Casualties Now Reported After Strike on Central Kramatorsk

Внаслідок нападу в центрі Краматорська наразі зафіксовано п’ять постраждалих.

Strike Hits Kramatorsk

A Russian attack on a commercial facility in downtown Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, occurred around 4:00 PM on July 4. By 7:50 PM, the number of injured had risen to five, including a child born in 2015. The assault employed a guided aerial bomb, the FAB-250, equipped with a UMPK module. The resulting fire spread across an area of 1,300 square meters.

Local authorities have launched a criminal investigation under Article 438, Part 1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code. Kramatorsk sits less than 20 kilometers from the front line, leaving it highly exposed to military operations.

Pattern of Attacks on Civilian Sites

This incident is the latest in a series of systematic strikes on civilian infrastructure in Kramatorsk. On June 29, drones targeted a gas station, an educational institution, and a supermarket within the Kramatorsk community, though no casualties were reported then. On May 19, Russian forces dropped a high-explosive aerial bomb on a residential area, injuring at least six civilians. In March, an airstrike on the city killed three people, among them a child. Late in May, the enemy attacked Kramatorsk twice in a single day, resulting in the deaths of two local women.

Commenting on the situation, Vadym Filashkin stated:

“This is an ordinary urban space where people go about their business.” - Vadym Filashkin

He further emphasized that “the Russians deliberately hit such places to maim civilians, spread fear, and destroy lives where they cannot win militarily.” Playing a key role in holding perpetrators accountable, Filashkin declared: “Every such strike will be met with accountability.”

Kramatorsk remains under relentless fire, fueling deep concern among residents about their safety and daily survival amid ongoing hostilities.

The repeated attacks on civilian sites in Kramatorsk highlight the perilous conditions in the region, where inhabitants face constant threats to life and security. These incidents provoke international outrage and raise serious questions about adherence to human rights and international humanitarian law in the conflict. It is crucial for Ukraine's justice system to continue its investigations and bring those responsible to justice, ensuring redress for the victims.

The ongoing violence in Kramatorsk raises significant alarms about civilian safety. Following the recent strike that resulted in five casualties, including a child, this incident mirrors previous attacks on the city, such as the airstrike that injured multiple residents just weeks earlier.
