Attacks on Izium and Zaporizhzhia
On June 26, Russian forces targeted the Kharkiv region and the city of Zaporizhzhia. Around 9:30 AM, explosions were heard in Izium, where the city was struck by what are believed to be two Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). One of the drones hit an apartment building near the city center. Two additional residential buildings and several cars were also damaged. The assault resulted in one fatality and left three people injured.
Serhiy Fedchenko, head of the Izium City Military Administration, commented on the incident: 'At 9:30 AM, a Shahed-type UAV preliminarily struck an apartment building almost in the city center. Two more buildings were damaged. As of now, we know of one deceased. It was a direct hit on the building. Rescuers arrived at the scene and began clearing the entrance. There was terrible smoke, and an elderly woman was screaming loudly, but by the time they reached her, she had stopped screaming.'
Ballistic Strike on Zaporizhzhia
On the same day, Russian troops launched a ballistic missile attack on central Zaporizhzhia. The strike wounded six people, with the missile hitting a residential area. A large fire broke out following the explosion in Zaporizhzhia. These events have been confirmed by sources including Glavcom and Suspilne Kharkiv.

The strikes on Izium and Zaporizhzhia highlight the use of advanced military technology, such as drones. These incidents further illustrate the precarious security situation for civilians in conflict-affected areas.
