Airstrike on Konotop: drone collapsed three floors of a residential building

Attack on Konotop

On the night of May 20, Russian military forces launched a drone strike on the city of Konotop in the Sumy region. More than 10 explosions were reported during the attack. One of the drones hit a five-story building, causing three floors to collapse. People are trapped under the rubble, and rescue teams continue to search through the debris.

In addition to Konotop, Shostka and Trostianets were also shelled. Major fires erupted in residential areas of these cities, but there were no casualties among the civilian population. In the Zhnob-Novgorod community, a drone struck a passenger car, injuring a 47-year-old man, who is now under medical observation.

Situation in the Region

Among the damaged facilities in Konotop are the city hospital (windows shattered) and other residential buildings, apartments, and administrative structures. The number of injured is still being verified. The situation remains tense as rescue services are working to eliminate the aftermath of the strike.

This attack is part of the increasing pressure on the Sumy region: shelling of the cities in the area continues. Authorities and emergency services are trying to respond quickly, but the situation is causing alarm among local residents. Those who experienced the raid are in urgent need of support, as their lives and safety have come under threat.

Recently, the shelling of Krolevechchyna resulted in six injured and one deceased, highlighting the deteriorating security in the Sumy region. Local authorities and emergency services are working to address the aftermath of the attacks, but fear and anxiety among residents are rising.
