Roshen Warehouse Attack Sparks Shortage of Popular Sweets

Атака на склад компанії Рошен призвела до дефіциту улюблених солодощів.

Drone Strike Hits Roshen's Logistics Hub

A Russian drone attack on February 7 targeted a Roshen confectionery logistics center near Yahotyn, igniting a massive fire. Firefighters battled the blaze at the warehouse complex for over eight days, finally extinguishing it the weekend after the initial strike. This incident has directly caused shortages of specific product categories within the Roshen retail network. Roshen is one of Ukraine's largest and most well-known confectionery producers.

Political consultant Viktor Ukolov commented on Facebook about the fire's enormous scale, noting it was hard to believe a single jet-powered 'Shahed' drone could cause such extensive damage. The attack on the distribution center has led to the disappearance from shelves of popular bulk sweets, including marshmallows (zefir), fruit pastilles (pastila), and gummy slices.

Impact on Production and the Economy

The large-scale attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region occurred on February 7, 2026. As a result, the Roshen company sustained serious losses, triggering a product shortage and the disappearance of these popular confectionery items from stores.

This incident underscores the consequences of military actions for the civilian economy, particularly for food producers.

The strike on the Roshen logistics hub not only damaged critical infrastructure but also affected product availability for consumers, which could have longer-term market repercussions. In wartime, such attacks can lead to both economic and social challenges, including:

  • rising food prices;
  • a reduced selection of goods in stores.
