Ukrainian Forces Target Crimea Oil Depots and Fuel Sites in Overnight Strikes

Військові України завдали удару по нафтосховищам та паливним об'єктам в Криму під час нічної операції.

Strikes on Occupied Territories

In the early hours of April 8, Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted a series of strikes against multiple targets in temporarily occupied territories. These precision attacks are part of a broader strategy to degrade Russian military logistics far behind the front lines. Among the primary targets were oil depots in Crimea and storage facilities for fuel and lubricants. The General Staff of Ukraine confirmed successful strikes on oil terminals in Feodosia and Hvardiiske, as well as on materiel and technical supply depots in the following areas:

  • Svitly (Zaporizhzhia region)
  • Sukhodilsk (Luhansk region)
  • Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk region)

The operation also successfully hit a field artillery ammunition depot near Yalta and a warehouse for unmanned aerial vehicles close to Stepne (Donetsk region). Furthermore, Ukrainian forces destroyed an ammunition storage site in the area of Uralo-Kavkaz (Luhansk region) and a radio-electronic intelligence station near Novoozerne (Crimea). Additionally, a positional area of the Bastion coastal missile system in the Sofiyivka district (Crimea) was struck.

Impact of the Strikes

Following explosions at the oil depot in Feodosia, a major fire broke out, prompting occupation authorities to block access roads to the facility. An expert noted,

“In Crimea, the Forces of Unmanned Systems struck fuel reservoirs at the Feodosia oil terminal - Maydar.”
The strikes also targeted Buk and Tor air defense systems, a Zoopark radar system, and Russian occupying personnel.

These coordinated attacks are a key element of Ukraine's ongoing campaign to cripple the logistical capabilities of Russian forces on occupied land. By destroying oil depots and supply warehouses, Ukraine aims to severely disrupt the provisioning of Russian troops, thereby increasing pressure on their defensive positions. Such deep-strike operations demonstrate Ukraine's growing capacity to hit strategic military targets, which could significantly influence the course of the wider military campaign in the region.

In addition to targeting fuel supplies, Ukrainian forces have also intensified their operations against advanced Russian military systems. Recent strikes have successfully hit S-400 missile systems in Crimea, showcasing a strategic effort to undermine Russian air defense capabilities.
