Drone Strike Hits Oil Depot in Tuapse: Ukrainian Attack Targets Russian Port

Атака українських дронів на нафтовий склад у Туапсе: удари по російському порту.

Drone Strikes on Tuapse and Nevinnomyssk

Overnight on May 27, unmanned aerial vehicles struck Tuapse in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Early reports indicate the drone attack hit an oil depot, sparking a fire. Official details regarding this incident have not yet been released.

This operation is part of a broader campaign by Ukrainian drones targeting Russian oil infrastructure, which began on April 16. Since then, four separate attacks have resulted in major fires in Tuapse. In April 2026 alone, Ukraine carried out at least 21 strikes on Russian oil facilities, including:

  • refineries
  • oil pipelines
  • maritime assets
  • export terminals

This figure surpasses the previous monthly record set in December 2025.

Additionally, on the night of May 20, drones attacked the city of Nevinnomyssk in Russia's Stavropol Krai. The target was the Nevinnomyssky Azot plant, where a fire may have also broken out, according to preliminary information. Notably, in June 2025, drones previously struck this same facility, and the governor of Stavropol Krai at that time confirmed debris fell within the industrial zone.

These strikes highlight the increasing activity of Ukrainian drones aimed at strategic assets inside Russia.

Damaging oil infrastructure could have severe repercussions for the Russian economy, as the fuel sector is a critical component of the country's exports. The continuation of such operations may signal a new tactical approach by Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, focused on degrading the enemy's resource base.

The recent attacks on Russian oil infrastructure, particularly in Tuapse, are part of a larger trend of Ukrainian drone operations targeting critical assets.
