Ukraine's Defense Forces Strike Russian Oil Refinery and Naval Drone Facility Over Two Days

Збройні сили України завдали ударів по російським об'єктам, знищуючи нафтові потужності та бази безпілотників впродовж двох днів.

Ukrainian Military Targets Key Russian Infrastructure

Between June 10 and 11, Ukraine's defense forces executed a series of strikes against assets within Russian territory. The operations successfully hit the following locations:

  • The Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region;
  • A production site for unmanned naval vessels in Sevastopol;
  • A storage depot for drones in Hryhorivka;
  • Command centers and drone manufacturing workshops in occupied areas.

The Afipsky Refinery's Strategic Role

Situated roughly 20 kilometers from Krasnodar in the settlement of Afipsky, this refinery stands as one of southern Russia's largest oil processing plants, with an annual capacity of 6.25 million tons. Confirmed reports indicate a direct hit and subsequent fire at the facility. The plant is part of the Safmar group, owned by businessman Mikhail Gutseriev. A prior attack on the Afipsky refinery occurred on the night of March 14, damaging the AT-22/4 primary oil processing unit. Throughout the war, this refinery has endured at least 12 separate strikes.

In Crimea, the strike in Sevastopol targeted a facility manufacturing unmanned naval boats. Meanwhile, near Hryhorivka in Crimea, a drone storage site was destroyed. Ukrainian forces also struck Russian military command posts in areas including Davydivsky, Novoznamyanka, Bakhmut, Selydove, and Pokrovsk.

Additional strikes hit a drone command post near Novoandriivka in Donetsk region and a concentration area for drone units near Dovzhansk in Luhansk region. A workshop producing and repairing drones was also targeted near Avdiivka in Donetsk region.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated, 'The Afipsky oil refinery is one of the largest oil processing plants in southern Russia. Its annual processing volume is 6.25 million tons per year.'

These attacks demonstrate the ongoing active efforts by Ukrainian forces to dismantle enemy military infrastructure and reduce Russia's combat capabilities. By targeting critical areas like drone production and energy facilities, these operations aim to weaken Russia's logistical and operational strength, potentially shifting the conflict's momentum in Ukraine's favor. The systematic destruction of such resources reflects a strategic approach focused on degrading the adversary's war-fighting potential.

The statement also emphasized, 'Ukraine's defense forces will continue to systematically reduce the Russian aggressor's ability to wage war against Ukraine.'

As Ukraine continues its strategic operations against Russian infrastructure, the recent strikes on the Afipsky oil refinery highlight a broader trend of targeting critical assets. In a similar vein, Ukrainian forces have also disrupted operations at the Syzran oil refinery while targeting advanced radar systems. Such coordinated efforts emphasize the ongoing escalation in military engagements and the importance of understanding these developments.
