Strike on the port of Odesa: 8 dead and 27 injured as a result of the rocket attack

Смертельний ракетний удар по одеському порту: багато жертв і постраждалих серед цивільного населення.

Strike on the port infrastructure of the Odesa region

On December 19, Russian occupiers struck a port infrastructure facility in the Odesa region, resulting in eight deaths and 27 injuries. Some of the injured were on a bus that found itself at the epicenter of the strike. Ballistic missiles were used during the attack, causing numerous damages at the port.

After the missile strike, cargo trucks caught fire in the parking lot, and passenger vehicles were also damaged. All fires that broke out as a result of the attack were promptly extinguished. It is noted that the facility has been targeted for several days, particularly since December 12 when Russian forces attacked energy facilities in the Odesa region for several days in a row.

Second shelling and its consequences

That same night, Russian troops shelled the transport bridge near the village of Mayaky on the M15 road. The destruction of the crossing could lead to significant increases in fuel prices for the population. After the shelling, most of Odesa was left without water and electricity, complicating the situation for local residents.

This attack on the port infrastructure of the Odesa region highlights the constant threat posed by Russian aggression to Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

The loss of life and injuries to people, as well as damage to important facilities, can have far-reaching consequences for the region's economy, particularly for the supply of goods and energy stability. Given the continued attacks on energy facilities, the situation in the Odesa region remains tense, requiring urgent measures to ensure safety and support for the population.
