On the night of December 23, an attack occurred in Zhytomyr region from the Russian Federation. Missiles and kamikaze drones landed in the region, leading to injuries among people, including the death of a child. This information was provided by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military-Civil Administration Vitaliy Bunechko, which was disseminated by the portal «Glavkom».
According to new data, as a result of enemy strikes in the region that night, a child born in 2021 died. 'The child was hospitalized in the central hospital, after a night, doctors fought for her life, but unfortunately, salvation was not possible,' said Bunechko.
Consequences of the attack and victims
'We express our sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the deceased child. One more child and an adult are in hospitals. In total, there are currently known about five injured and one person who died from Russian shelling in Zhytomyr region that night,' the message states.
It is worth noting that Russia is again attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, resulting in emergency power outages in several regions.

In addition, on the night of December 23, Russian troops actively attacked Sumy region with drones. The head of Sumy Regional State Administration Oleg Grygorov reported on the consequences of the attack.
It is also worth mentioning that Russian terrorists attacked Rivne region, leading to damage to a two-story residential building, where the explosion shattered windows.
