Attacks on the Tuapse Oil Refinery
Ukraine's defense forces carried out strikes on an oil refinery and port facilities in Tuapse during April and on May 1, resulting in substantial economic losses for Russia. The damage inflicted on the Tuapse port infrastructure and the Tuapse Oil Refinery is estimated to exceed $300 million.
Starting April 16, Ukrainian drones launched four attacks on Russian oil infrastructure targets, triggering massive fires in Tuapse. The Tuapse refinery has an annual processing capacity of approximately 12 million tons of crude oil, focusing on primary refining to produce naphtha, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. A significant portion of the plant's output is designated for export markets.

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has executed over 20 successful strikes on key Russian oil industry facilities, with cumulative economic losses for Russia surpassing $7 billion. The General Staff of Ukraine reported:
