Leadership Overhaul in Military Groupings
Major General Viktor Nikoliuk has stepped down from his role as commander of the Eastern military grouping, a position he held since April. Under his leadership, this formation managed operations across the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, Ochertyna, and Pokrovsk sectors of the front line. The Eastern grouping has now been dissolved and replaced by two newly formed units: the 'Center' and 'Azov' groupings.
Andriy Biletsky, previously in charge of the Third Army Corps, has been appointed commander of the new 'Center' grouping. Meanwhile, Brigadier General Denis Prokopenko, known by his call sign 'Redis' and commander of the First Corps of the National Guard 'Azov', has taken command of the 'Azov' grouping. At the start of April, Viktor Nikoliuk reported facing intense enemy offensives and infiltration attempts within Ukrainian-held positions.
