Appointment of Valeriy Vavrynyuk

Valeriy Vavrynyuk will temporarily perform the duties of the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine by the decree of President Volodymyr Zelensky. This decree was signed as part of changes in the leadership of the service.

Valeriy Vavrynyuk is a major general and previously held the position of first deputy to Serhiy Deyneko, the former head of the State Border Guard Service. He was born on July 14, 1975, in the city of Khmelnytskyi. In addition, Vavrynyuk is a participant in the combat actions in eastern Ukraine, for which he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III class and received the honor from the President of Ukraine 'For participation in the anti-terrorist operation.'

Prospects of the new appointment

The appointment of Valeriy Vavrynyuk to this position reflects the continuation of the reform and renewal process in the leadership of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Considering his military experience and participation in combat actions, it is expected that he will be able to effectively cope with the challenges facing the border guards in the context of the current security situation in Ukraine.
