Ukrainian military is changing its approach to building defensive structures due to new methods of the Russian aggressor. Organizational chaos and irresponsibility of responsible persons are becoming the main obstacles in this process, experts and fighters assert.
According to Ukrainian military, Russia has changed its tactics, shifting from classic armored advances to infiltration by small infantry groups and drones. This means that traditional defense methods are no longer as effective, so Ukraine is moving to build smaller strongholds that are harder for the Russian side to detect.
“What is happening in a number of regions is a mess. Almost nobody knows who is responsible for what and who should control the process. We always wait until the last moment,” Roman Pohorilyi noted.
Despite statements from the command about the success of constructing defensive structures, analysts and fighters point out problems. The Russian side is actively searching for weaknesses in the defense and trying to exploit them. This requires constant improvement of Ukraine's defense system.
