Today, December 12, the draw for the qualification of the Women's Futsal European Championship 2027 took place. This information was announced by the portal 'Glavkom' referring to UAF.
12 teams will participate in the tournament, 11 of which will start from the elite round, while Ukraine will start from the main round. Six teams will advance to the final tournament from the elite round, and one team will be determined through playoff matches.
As a result of the draw, the Ukrainian team was placed in group 4 of the elite round, where they will face the national teams of Poland, Belgium, and the best team from group B of the main round.
Groups of the Women's Futsal European Championship
Main Round:
- Group A: Czech Republic, Belarus, Norway, Kazakhstan.
- Group B: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, England, Lithuania.
- Group C: Slovenia, France, Northern Ireland, Latvia.
Elite Round:
- Group 1: Portugal, Finland, Netherlands, one of the two best teams that will take second places in the main round (2 by ordinal number).
- Group 2: Hungary, Sweden, Slovakia, the best team from group C of the main round.
- Group 3: Spain, Italy, the best team from group A of the main round, one of the two best teams that will take second places in the main round (1 by ordinal number).
- Group 4: Ukraine, Poland, Belgium, the best team from group B of the main round.
The Euro-2027 tournament will take place in Croatia, with the final part held in Osijek, at the 'Arena Gradski Vrt' stadium.
To qualify for the Futsal World Cup, Ukraine needs to defeat two more opponents. The team is preparing for the playoff semifinal against Sweden, and in case of victory, will wait for the final against the winner of the Poland - Albania match.
In the last match against Iceland, the Ukrainian team scored two goals and continues to fight for a place at the World Cup.
