Ukraine has taken an important step in the fight against corruption by improving financial control and creating new legislative mechanisms. However, it is crucial that these innovations are successfully implemented in practice. This was stated during a meeting with the leadership of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
At the meeting, recommendations for improving the internal control and audit system were discussed, particularly regarding the role of NAZK. The Council of Ukraine on Financial Control emphasized the importance of these procedures in the fight against corruption and called for their broader implementation in the practice of state bodies.
'The report of the Audit Council emphasizes the significance of legislative changes in Ukraine, but at the same time highlights the need to change the approach to the implementation of internal control and the role of NAZK in this system,' - noted Gijs de Vries.
Further dialogues also discussed the need for consistency in integrity policy with the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service. More updates can be found on the NAZK website.
