The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Ukraine is preparing for the fifth summit of the international Crimean Platform and expects the participation of many foreign leaders. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasylyna Betza at the fourth international forum of the expert network of the international Crimean Platform.

Betza noted that the Crimean issue is gaining particular importance now, in the year of the 80th anniversary of the UN. According to her, the Ukrainian side understands that more needs to be done to draw the attention of the international community to the de-occupation of Crimea. 'Every year we promote a resolution on human rights in the temporarily occupied territories within the framework of the UN General Assembly. This year we will also promote this as much as possible,' - the Deputy Minister noted.

Speaking about the preparation for the fifth summit, Betza emphasized its importance, not specifying the date of the event. 'We are also preparing the 5th summit of the international Crimean Platform, and it will be an important summit. We hope that many foreign leaders will be present,' - she said.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Crimea issue is central in the current Russian aggression. At the same time, she stressed the importance of recognizing the deportation of Crimean Tatars as genocide. 'This is extremely important because it is also about crimes and the restoration of justice,' - Betza noted.

The diplomat expressed gratitude to parliamentarians from several European countries for their support in recognizing historical crimes against the Crimean Tatar people. 'I want to thank the parliamentarians of Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands for their respective decisions to recognize the Stalinist deportation as genocide against the Crimean Tatar people,' - Betza said.

The Role of the Crimean Platform

The Crimean Platform is an important international mechanism to consolidate the efforts of the global community to combat the Russian occupation of Crimea and to coordinate actions to return the peninsula under the control of Ukraine.

Ukraine is preparing for the fifth summit of the international Crimean Platform, where the issues of the occupation of Crimea and the importance of recognizing the deportation of Crimean Tatars as genocide will be discussed. Ukraine is trying to draw the attention of the international community to these issues within the framework of the UN and through cooperation with other countries and partners.
