A Shift in Ukraine's Geopolitical Function
During an interview on the 'Khvylia' program with editor-in-chief Yurii Romanenko, analyst Tigran Avakyan outlined a significant transformation in Ukraine's international position. The expert pointed out that Europe currently lacks capable, combat-ready armies, and that for the foreseeable future, Ukraine's military will be the only truly battle-effective force on the continent. He emphasized the need for pragmatic, mutually beneficial agreements in modern international relations.

This represents a chance for Ukraine to become a true subject in international politics, Avakyan argued, warning that seeking EU membership as a 'poor relative' could instead lead to the country being overlooked. This perspective comes as Western security architecture is being reassessed following Russia's full-scale invasion.
