Consortium for Lithium Extraction in Ukraine

Ukraine has chosen a consortium for lithium extraction from the 'Dobra' deposit in the Kirovohrad region, which includes billionaire Ronald Lauder and the company TechMet. The Ukrainian government emphasizes that the competition for the right to extract was impartial. The minimum investments proposed by the consortium exceed 179 million US dollars.

Strategic Significance of the Project

The 'Dobra' deposit has significant reserves estimated at 80-105 million tons of ore. This project is part of Ukraine's strategic initiatives aimed at economic development and attracting foreign investments. In addition, a signing of an agreement between Ukraine and the USA for 800 billion dollars for the reconstruction of the country's economy is expected within the next ten years. The final agreement on this deal is planned to take place during the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the situation remains difficult, but these steps are important for stabilizing Ukraine's economy and reducing dependence on external raw material sources.

This lithium extraction project aims not only to increase investments but also to develop new technologies in Ukraine, which, in turn, can positively impact the country's energy sector.

The choice of the consortium for lithium extraction from the 'Dobra' deposit indicates Ukraine's growing attention to developing its natural resources and energy independence. Lithium is an important element for the production of batteries and other technologies used in renewable energy, highlighting the strategic importance of this project. Attracting international investors, such as Ronald Lauder, can contribute not only to financial stability but also to the technological development of the country.
