Programmer's Day in Ukraine
Ukraine has officially introduced a new professional holiday - Programmer's Day, which will be celebrated on January 7. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the decree of President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 24. This decree comes into effect upon publication.
Previously, Ukrainian IT specialists celebrated their holiday twice a year: on January 7 and on September 12 or 13. However, since 2022, the Ukrainian community has abandoned the September celebration. The introduction of Programmer's Day is a response to the significant contribution of information technology specialists to the development of the digital economy and the digital security of the state.
As Volodymyr Zelensky noted, this holiday plays an important role in strengthening national security and defense capabilities of Ukraine.
Importance of the IT Sector
The introduction of Programmer's Day in Ukraine reflects the recognition of the importance of the IT sector in the face of modern challenges that the country faces. This holiday can become not only a symbol of professional pride but also a way to raise public awareness about the role of technology in the development of the state.
In the conditions of war and digital threats, support and development of the IT industry are crucial for ensuring stability and security in Ukraine.
