EU allocates €3.47 billion under Ukraine Support Loan
To strengthen the country’s air defense, aviation capabilities, drone manufacturing, missile programs, and overall defense resilience, the European Union has released €3.47 billion via its Ukraine Support Loan instrument. Khmara expressed gratitude to EU Commissioner Andrius Kubilius, High Representative Kaja Kallas, the European Commission, and EU member states for this financial backing.
This tranche is part of a larger EU commitment: the Ukraine Support Loan program is set to provide up to €90 billion through 2026–2027, with €60 billion earmarked specifically for defense. In 2026 alone, Ukraine expects to receive €28.3 billion in defense support under this framework. Such funding represents a critical step in securing the nation’s stability amid the ongoing war.
