€3.47 Billion in New EU Funding Flows to Ukraine

Нові фінансові ресурси ЄС на суму €3.47 мільярдів розширять підтримку для України.

Ukraine continues to rely on foreign aid to sustain its economy and military efforts during the ongoing war.

EU Financial Support for Ukraine

A fresh disbursement of €3.47 billion has been made to Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Support Loan program, which aims to deliver €45 billion in total. To date, Ukraine has obtained €11.6 billion from this initiative; of that sum, €3.2 billion went to cover budget shortfalls and €8.4 billion toward military spending.

Additionally, the European Union has provided Ukraine with an initial defense aid installment worth €3.9 billion. According to Serhiy Koretsky, these funds will be used to strengthen defensive capabilities and finance urgent priorities. Notably, on June 25, a sum of €3.2 billion in budget support was deposited into the national treasury. In total, the amount mobilized under the Ukraine Support Loan program now stands at €7 billion.

Strengthening Defense Capabilities

Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that €3.9 billion has been allocated for advanced drone technology, describing it as a key milestone in enhancing Ukraine’s military resilience.

Serhiy Koretsky expressed gratitude to the European Commission and all EU member states for their unwavering support of Ukraine during this difficult period.

These financial infusions underscore the ongoing international backing for Ukraine, which remains crucial given the current challenges. The Ukraine Support Loan program not only helps stabilize the budget but also bolsters the nation’s defensive strength—an especially important consideration in the face of security threats. Additional disbursements are expected to assist Ukraine in managing the economic and military difficulties it continues to encounter.

In addition to the recent financial support, the EU has also committed nearly €4 billion specifically for enhancing Ukraine's drone manufacturing capabilities. This investment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Ukraine's defense infrastructure amid ongoing hostilities.
