International Energy Aid Arrives for Ukraine: Hundreds of Generators and Transformers En Route

Европейська енергетична підтримка: До України доставляються тисячі генераторів і трансформаторів.

International Support for Ukraine's Energy Grid

Ukraine is securing vital international assistance to bolster its power infrastructure, including shipments of generators and power transformers. Support from 16 partner nations is providing generators intended for critical infrastructure and energy sector workers. To date, 437 generators from the European Union and Japan have already been delivered, with over 500 more—many of which are currently in transit—expected to arrive soon. This aid is crucial as Ukraine's energy system faces sustained pressure from targeted attacks.

Expected Transformer Deliveries

In addition to generators, Ukraine anticipates receiving 52 power transformers. The following countries are providing transformer assistance:

  • Netherlands
  • Finland
  • Latvia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Lithuania

The first consignment of energy equipment from Poland, consisting of 130 generators, arrived in Kyiv on January 26, 2026. Further generator shipments from France are also planned. In total, 18 countries have contributed energy equipment to support Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed gratitude to all partners who responded to the call and are assisting the country's energy workers.

This international support is a key component in ensuring the stability of Ukraine's energy grid amid ongoing challenges. The mobilization of aid underscores the severe strain on Ukraine's energy sector following extensive infrastructure damage. The influx of generators and transformers will help alleviate pressure on the national grid, enhance its resilience, and support both civilian needs and economic recovery efforts.
