Ukraine Unveils the 10-Ton Sea Trident Underwater Drone

Україна презентує підводний дрон Морський тризуб вагою 10 тонн.

Sea Trident Submersible Drone Makes Its Debut

At the Eurosatory 2026 international defense exhibition in Paris, Ukrainian company Global Mark publicly showcased its heavy underwater drone, the Sea Trident, for the first time. Weighing in at 10 tons, this groundbreaking vehicle boasts impressive specifications, including a range of up to 2,000 nautical miles (roughly 3,700 km) and a payload capacity of 1,000 kg. Currently in the prototype phase, Global Mark is actively seeking international partners to help with testing and production.

Key Technical Specifications

The drone's main technical details are:

  • Maximum speed: 10 knots (18.5 km/h);
  • Cruising speed: 6 knots (11 km/h);
  • Operating depth: up to 60 meters;
  • Dimensions: 10 x 2 x 1.5 meters.

The Sea Trident builds on a lineage of proven Ukrainian maritime drones.

At Eurosatory 2026, Global Mark also introduced the Triton, an unmanned surface vessel capable of launching drones and air-to-air missiles. This year, around 80 Ukrainian companies participated in the exhibition—a sharp increase from just 10 in 2024, highlighting the rapid growth of Ukraine's defense industry.

In March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: 'Ukraine is working on maritime drones capable of operating even in ocean conditions—and that is not in the distant future.'

This statement underscores the strategic importance of developing new technologies to bolster national defense. Ukraine has also showcased other unmanned systems, such as the Magura V5, Sea Baby, and the Toloka family, which offers a 2,000 km range and a five-ton payload, as well as the Marichka, with a 1,000 km range and a one-ton payload.

Eurosatory 2026 served as a key platform for presenting Ukrainian defense and underwater systems technology, reflecting the country's growing potential in this sector.

The unveiling of the Sea Trident and other drones on the international stage highlights Ukraine's commitment to advancing defense technologies. The rising number of Ukrainian companies at the exhibition signals a surge in national industrial activity, addressing modern challenges. Engaging international partners for testing and manufacturing could significantly strengthen the country's defense capabilities amid ongoing geopolitical threats.

As Ukraine continues to innovate in defense technology, the introduction of the Sea Trident underwater drone complements recent advancements like the new navigation system that enhances drone capabilities.
