Ukraine's Warning and Poland's Reaction
Ukraine warned Poland about the possible use of the 'Oreshnik' missile by Russia, which allowed the Polish side to prepare for a potential attack. As a result, the Polish operational command was able to obtain information about the missile's flight parameters, enabling the necessary measures to ensure the country's security.
Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine yesterday, using:
- 242 drones
- 13 ballistic missiles
- one 'Oreshnik' missile
- 22 cruise missiles
The Polish special services, upon receiving the warning from Ukraine, placed their ground air defense systems on combat readiness, including a Patriot battery and several Dutch systems. This helped reduce risks to Polish territory during Russian aggressive actions.
Confirmation of Threat and International Reaction
The Security Service of Ukraine also showcased the remnants of the 'Oreshnik' missile in Lviv region, confirming the use of this type of weapon. An unknown author noted that Ukrainians have repeatedly warned about the threat of medium-range ballistic missiles. The Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, stated:
"The use of the 'Oreshnik' missile by Russia is an escalation of the war against Ukraine and a signal for Europe and the USA." - Kaja Kallas
This situation underscores the importance of international cooperation in the field of security, especially in the context of the conflict in Ukraine. Ukraine's warning allowed Poland to take operational measures, which could serve as an important example for other countries regarding the necessity of information exchange and coordination of actions in response to threats. Meanwhile, the escalation of the use of new types of missiles by Russia indicates a change in the aggressor's tactics, raising concerns in European countries and may lead to increased military support for Ukraine from the West.
