Construction of fortifications in Ukraine
Ukraine continues the construction of fortifications in frontline regions, reported Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal. Efforts to build protective structures are being carried out in the following regions:
- Zaporizhia
- Donetsk
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Chernihiv
- Kyiv
Currently, 2130 platoon strongpoints have been built, over 3 thousand kilometers of anti-tank ditches have been laid, and more than 1 thousand kilometers of barrier pyramids have been created. In addition, 16 thousand kilometers of 'Yegosa' barrier line have been erected and 4.3 thousand kilometers of low-observable obstacles have been established.
Denys Shmyhal emphasized the importance of further increasing the pace of fortification construction and improving construction technologies, noting that this is an important line of defense for Ukraine.
The significance of fortification construction
The continuation of the construction of fortifications in Ukraine indicates an intensification of efforts to strengthen the country's defense capabilities amid ongoing military conflicts. The involvement of new technologies and the acceleration of construction are critically important for ensuring the safety of both military and civilian populations in frontline regions. These actions can affect the overall strategic situation in the region and contribute to stability in an unstable security environment.
