Ukraine, US, and Russia to Hold Talks in Abu Dhabi

Ukraine's President has expanded the nation's delegation for upcoming trilateral negotiations with the United States and the Russian Federation, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The primary focus of these discussions will be the situation in the Donbas region. A Russian delegation has also been formed and will travel to Abu Dhabi in the near future.

Delegation Composition and Core Agenda

The meeting will be conducted at a technical level. The Ukrainian side will be represented by a team that includes:

  • Delegation head Umerov
  • Budanov
  • Arakhamia
  • General Gnatov
  • Military intelligence representative Skibitskyi
  • Diplomats, including Mr. Kyslytsia and several others

Ukraine's President emphasized that the Donbas issue is central, with discussions framed by how each of the three parties views the situation. Vladimir Putin has sent instructions to representatives from the Russian Ministry of Defense who are also participating in the talks.

These negotiations occur against the backdrop of the international community's ongoing efforts to resolve the Donbas conflict, which has persisted since 2014. The expansion of Ukraine's delegation may signal a desire by its leadership to robustly present its interests and vision for the peace process. The outcome of these talks is expected to significantly influence the future trajectory of the region and the relations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia.
