In August, Ukraine became the absolute leader in Europe in electricity prices. According to ENTSOE data, during the month our country had the highest electricity prices 16 times among 26 European countries on the 'day-ahead' market. Nevertheless, Ukraine truly demonstrated leadership in this matter!

However, it should be noted that Italy was the leader in electricity prices for the remaining 10 days of August. So, everyone has their victories!

By the end of the month, on August 31, Ukraine also rose to the top and had the highest price index for base load electricity in Europe - 5,101.38 hryvnias per megawatt-hour. At the same time, France had the lowest prices - 908.55 hryvnias per MWh. The difference is striking, isn't it?

It should be taken into account that Ukrainians face not only high electricity prices but also significant debts for utilities, which exceed 100 billion hryvnias. Such numbers must be taken seriously!
