History of the Holiday

Until 2022, Youth Day in Ukraine was celebrated on the last Sunday of June. This was a Soviet tradition that continued until 2022. After the Russian aggression in 2014, Ukraine sought to move towards European standards and shifted the holiday to another date. Thus, the President of Ukraine changed the date of the celebration to August 12.

Traditions of Youth Day

Previously, Youth Day was accompanied by loud festivals, sports competitions, and concerts. Today, due to the military events in the country, the celebration has changed a bit, but the spirit of the holiday remains. Young people unite online, observing all safety measures, to celebrate together. Youth Day has become a platform for discussing relevant issues in education, work, and public life.

This is a time when young people show their activity by participating in charitable events and volunteer projects. They prove that even in difficult conditions, good deeds can be done and the world can be changed for the better.

Every beginning has its history, and Youth Day is no exception. It is an important holiday that unites Ukrainian youth, inspiring them to achieve new heights and improve life in the country.
