Ukraine and Belgium strengthen cooperation
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Pavlo Kartashov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Mr. Luc Jacobs and advisor to the Belgian Embassy Roben Errero. The meeting discussed infrastructure reconstruction, energy security and support for Belgian investors in Ukraine.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the state of relations between the countries, practical steps for the implementation of agreements and further cooperation for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war. Belgium expressed interest in G2G cooperation with Ukraine.
Assistance from the Belgian agency Enabel
The meeting also discussed Belgium's participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine through the activities of Enabel. The general discussion also concerned humanitarian demining, particularly in the Chernihiv region.
Enabel has already implemented several projects, including:
- provision of 16 heating systems to medical institutions in Kyiv worth over 4.8 million euros;
- delivery of 180 generators for schools and kindergartens and support for the construction of shelters;
- repair of the Chernihiv Regional Blood Center worth over 2 million euros;
- support for training programs for medical teams in the region.
Belgian Embassy in Kyiv
Ukraine and Belgium continue to strengthen cooperation in both infrastructure reconstruction and energy security, as well as humanitarian aid. Enabel is already actively assisting reconstruction in the Chernihiv region, facilitating the implementation of various socio-economic projects.
