Joint Ukraine-Denmark Initiative
A meeting between Ukrainian Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky and a delegation from the Kingdom of Denmark has advanced discussions on the Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) project in food and agriculture. The partners reviewed the SSC Work Plan's results and set priorities for the second half of 2026 and for 2027. This collaboration aims to strengthen Ukraine's agricultural sector, with potential benefits for national food safety and market access.
Key Cooperation Areas
Future efforts will focus heavily on food safety reforms. During the latter half of 2026, expert missions are scheduled to address three critical fields:
- food safety
- animal health and welfare
- phytosanitary measures, plant passporting, and seed certification
A schedule for upcoming joint activities was approved at the Coordination Working Group meeting, helping to streamline the implementation of planned initiatives.
The joint Ukraine-Denmark project in the food and agriculture sector represents a significant step in enhancing Ukraine's agricultural capacity, which can positively impact the country's food security. Reforms planned for the coming years aim to improve product quality and safety standards, aligning with modern market requirements and international norms.
