Ukraine and Finland agreed on energy storage systems: what will change

Ukrainian state companies 'Ukrenergo', 'Ukrhydroenergo', 'Market Operator', 'Ukrainian Distribution Networks' held a meeting with managers of the Finnish energy company Cactos. The event took place as part of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector.



The main topic of discussion was the prospects for cooperation in establishing energy storage systems. Oleg Kapelyush, Deputy General Director of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Energy, emphasized the importance of developing the market for such installations to ensure the stability of Ukraine's energy system during the war.



Representatives of Ukrainian companies expressed their readiness to cooperate with Cactos on the development, installation, and maintenance of battery energy storage systems. The meeting also discussed possibilities for joint projects, including technical, financial, and legislative aspects.



A representative of the Ministry of Energy expressed gratitude to the Finnish government and business for supporting the Ukrainian energy sector during the ongoing war, expressing confidence in further cooperation between Ukrainian and Finnish energy companies.



The meeting between Ukrainian and Finnish energy companies was aimed at sharing experiences and expanding cooperation opportunities in the field of energy development. This indicates the parties' ongoing interest in improving energy infrastructure and ensuring the resilience of the system amid internal and external instability.
