Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksii Serhiev held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pasi Hellman. The main topic of discussion was the further work of the Coalition of Shelters, the formation of its structure, and the involvement of other countries.
During the meeting, Hellman presented the structure of the Coalition, which consists of a Secretariat, a Governing Council, and a group for selecting projects for the construction of protective structures. The Finnish side expressed its readiness to share experience with Ukrainian partners.
“Initially, we will form the governing bodies, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will send a request to the embassies of the member countries of the Coalition to determine representatives to the Coalition. Representatives from other ministries of the Government of Ukraine will also join.”
The participants of the meeting agreed to continue technical consultations and develop a concrete action plan. Cooperation within the Coalition will enhance Ukraine's resilience and ensure safer conditions for the civilian population.
As part of the meeting, an important discussion took place about future cooperation between Ukraine and Finland in the field of shelters. Both sides confirmed their readiness for joint efforts and experience sharing, which will contribute to enhancing the nation's security and implementing joint projects for the benefit of the civilian population.
