Agreement Reached Between Ukraine and Moldova

Ukraine and Moldova have finalized an agreement on poultry exports, opening up fresh opportunities for the agricultural sectors in both nations. The deal was secured during a meeting between Ukraine's Minister, Oleksii Sobolev, and officials from Moldova's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, as well as the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA). This agreement is part of broader efforts to strengthen regional economic ties in Eastern Europe.

The discussions focused on agricultural cooperation and the specific situation regarding the export of Ukrainian poultry to Moldova. A key outcome was the mutual decision to streamline and enhance the inspection controls for Ukrainian poultry meat exporters. Oleksii Sobolev stated:

“We anticipate a return to the usual pace of trade in the very near future.”

Outlook for Agricultural Producers

This arrangement is expected to positively impact the stability of Ukraine's exports to the European Union market, presenting new prospects for the country's farmers.

The poultry export pact underscores both countries' commitment to fortifying economic links within the agricultural sector. Amid volatility in international markets, such cooperation can boost export volumes and contribute to regional food security. The improved inspection protocols are also projected to help Ukrainian producers gain easier access to new markets, including those within the EU.
