Discussion on the Integration Paths of Ukraine and Moldova into the EU
Ukraine and Moldova discussed a joint path towards EU membership, focusing on the opening of negotiation clusters and cooperation in the areas of trade, energy, and security. The talks were held with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who confirmed the importance of coordinated actions between the countries.
The key goal of the meeting was to emphasize the simultaneous opening of the first negotiation clusters, which should facilitate the integration of both states into European structures. As part of this process, enhanced trilateral cooperation between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania was also discussed, which could become an important element in ensuring stability in the region.
Gratitude and a Joint Path to the EU
Moreover, gratitude was expressed to Moldova for its consistent support of Ukraine during the full-scale Russian invasion. As noted,
“the joint path of Ukraine and Moldova towards EU membership must be coordinated”, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the states on the way to European integration.
The coordinated actions of Ukraine and Moldova in the context of European integration reflect the aspirations of both countries for stability and development amidst regional tension. A joint approach to opening negotiation clusters can create new opportunities for economic and political cooperation, which, in turn, will strengthen their positions in the EU. The activation of trilateral cooperation with Romania may also enhance regional security, which is an important aspect in the face of modern challenges.
