Ukraine and OSCE Join Forces Against Human Trafficking: New Protection Mechanisms

Спільні зусилля України та ООН у боротьбі з торгівлею людьми: нові механізми захисту жертв.

Ukraine and the OSCE are combining efforts to combat human trafficking and protect victims. At a meeting between representatives of Ukraine and the OSCE, the risks of trafficking were discussed, particularly in light of the expiration of EU temporary protection for Ukrainians in 2027. The need to clarify the definition of 'victim' in accordance with international standards was emphasized.

Attention was also given to simplifying the mechanisms for providing contact information and assistance routes for Ukrainians and migrants from other countries who may become victims of human trafficking. Cooperation with law enforcement is planned to be developed, and necessary aid will be provided to those in need.

Such meetings and cooperation between Ukraine and international partners are crucial for preventing and combating human trafficking, as well as for effectively supporting affected individuals.
